The Atomic Bomb Dome in Hiroshima is the only structure that survived the bombing on August 6, 1945. An untold grief fills my soul.

Built in 1597, the Matsumoto Castle is one of Japan's national Treasures. The castle is also known as Karasu-jo, the Crow Castle.

In the town of Ogimachi in the Shokawa Valley region, I rest in a serene garden and absorb the lush colors surrounding me. Behind me is a unique thatched roof house known as a gassho-zukuri. Gassho means "praying hands", suggesting the form of hands raised in prayer to the Buddha.
